Chapter 1

Kaida yawned as the first rays of morning light came through her window. She rubbed her eyes sleepily with one hand as she used the other to slowly prop herself up in to a sitting position.
The first day of summer, and I have to spend it working at the Café she thought with a grumble. She flung her covers off and slid her feet into a pair of sandals lined up beside her bed. It was a small room, but she was good at working with space. The baby blue bedspread went well with the light golden walls and royal-like vanity her grandmother had given her. She loved the calm and cute feeling it gave her, as opposed to her younger sister's frilly, pink "princess" theme. She threw on a ruffled strapless top and a white skirt, did her hair up in a bun, and ran out the door.

When she arrived at Mew Mew Headquarters, the shop was already open. Confused, she walked in slowly.
"Hello?" she called out.
"Kaida. You're late." a voice answered back. Kaida smiled.
"I'm right on time Ryou, you're the early one" she laughed.
"Whatever, you don't even have to work today. Since no other Mews have been found, I'm covering for you while you investigate a strange sighting. People have reported seeing a creature looking similar to a stingray...and right around where a man suddenly became violent and attacked his wife" Ryou replied, serious and almost cold. He sliped a piece of paper into her hand. Kaida nodded and took off sprinting, but had paused enough to deliver a soft "Thanks" to Ryou. She ran to the forest; the one where nobody was around at that time of day.

"Mew Mew Kaida, METAMORPHO-SIS!" she called out. Her pendant shimmered and she transformed in an instant. Viewing the crinkled paper in her hand, she followed the directions to the place of the sighting. When she arrived at the proper street, a huge, abandoned hotel loomed before her. Some of it's windows were broken and ivy had begun to creep up its outer walls. The erie feeling sent a shiver up her spine.
Tentatively she stepped closer to the old building.
What am I thinking? I'm a Mew Mew, I can handle anything! she thought, disappointed with how she had reacted. Her courage flared and allowed her to enter the hotel.

Wind whistled through the empty room as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. The dusty old lobby looked like a tornado had ravaged through, judging by the mess. Kaida coughed on the dust as she moved toward a crippled staircase to the left of what used to be a reception counter. As she ascended them, the stairs creaked and groaned threateningly under her weight. She kept her ears sharp for other sounds that could warn her of the alleged enemy. Five stairs from the top, she heard a snap as the step below her feet collapsed, and she began to fall through the hole. At the last second a hand grasped hers tightly, and pulled her back to solid ground.
"You ok?" a girl about her age asked kindly. She was a Mew Mew.
"I-I'm fine. You...you're a Mew Mew!" Kaida gasped. The girl introduced herself. Her name was Mew Shiki.
"I'm Mew Kaida" she replied to Shiki.
"Why'd you come here of all places?" Shiki asked sincerely. Kaida explained about the mysterious sighting and how Ryou had thought it was an alien.
"I'm looking for that bunch too. They stole my most prized possession from me. And I intend to get it back" Shiki said angrily, suddenly more fierce than she had first seemed.

The two stood and began to cautiously climb to the top of the stairs. When they reached the top, the stood at one end of a long hallway with many doors on either side. A silver lamp began to flash on and off, illuminating the faded red floral carpet. A figure teleported into view, face darkened by the shadows. It stepped into the light of the flashing light bulb.
"It is an alien!" Kaida exclaimed. Shiki narrowed her eyes. The alien had dark brown hair and bangs that swept to the side. His ears stuck out sharply.
"I am Glax. The one who will enslave Earth for my kind!" he sneered at them. A dark blue stingray-looking creature that seemed to swim through the air swirled around Glax, its bright, bubble-like green eyes shifting. It's tail ended with a thin stinger.
Aren't we supposed to be at peace with their race? Kaida thought worriedly.
"Two Mew Mews. This will complete my research." he mumbled half to himself. He signaled for the circling alien to attack, which let out a high-pitched screech as it charged forward.

  1. Shiki narrowed her eyes and pushed both her and Kaida out of the way. "Great," she said. "Now we have another problem. They want to take over the Earth. We gotta fight."

  2. The alien fish species turned sharply and dove at them again. "Dragon Claw Halos!" Kaida called. She and Shiki dodged it, and then the moment it hit the wall she said "Ribbon Kaida Light Blade!" which released a glowing "X" that acted as blades against the creature. It cried in pain, then lashed out its tail, which seemed to grow longer. It whipped its spike past Kaida, brushing her arm. 'Just a scrape. No blood.' Kaida thought, almost smirking. Glax watched on with his arms crossed. "Rats, he drew no blood." he grumbled quietly.

  3. Shiki looked over at the other girl. She doesn't seem to have much trouble, she thought. But I should help er anyways... Shiki quickly jumped into the air to get an advantage over the aliens. Drawing her weapon, she cried, "Ribbon Shiki Dark Shine!" As soon as the lone Mew Mew's wazashi glowed with the darkness of night, she charged forwards, slashing at the alien and cutting through its tail.

  4. At the same instant its tail was cut off, it let out a horrible shriek and seemed to almost wither, sinking like a rock to the bottom of a lake. It lay shriveled on the hotel carpet. Glax looked genuinely surprised.
"You Mew Mews are tougher than I thought. It seems even I have underestimated you" he snorted. Glax teleported away, leaving Kaida and Shiki baffled.
"What did he mean by 'even I'?" Kaida asked Shiki.

  5. Shiki shook her head. "I have no idea," she said. "But I'm guessing that he's referring to the other aliens that have been showing up recently. Did you see them? Perhaps they were all sent by somebody...."

  6. "Maybe...but I'll contact Pudding, Ichigo, and the other Tokyo Mew Mews if they have had any contact or trouble with Taruto or Kisshu lately. Ryou will probably want me to come back to the Café" Kaida thought out loud.

  7. Shiki narrowed her eyes. "What?" she said. "Well, never mind. I should get going." The girl turned to leave, hoping that the other Mew Mew wouldn't stop her.

  8. "S-" Kaida was about to say something, but bit it back. She let Shiki leave, and began to leave herself, looking back at the dead alien lying there almost sadly. She jumped over the hole in the stairs and hurried out the hotel doors, back into the summer sun. She changed back, and took her time to walk back to Mew Mew Headquaters, smiling as she breeze blew her hair back from her face.

  9. Shiki sighed as the other girl jumped out of sighed, and quickly started to walk a little faster. "Great," she mumbled, transforming back into her normal appearance and looking at her watch. "The store's closing soon; I gotta run if I wanna eat tonight."

  10. Kaida reached the doors of the dessert shop just as Ryou was locking them. "Hey. You were right. The aliens are back" she sighed. He turned, surprised. "Report then" he said sternly, regaining his usual commanding tone. Kaida quickly, but thoroughly explained what had happened and about the other Mew she had met. Ryou looked a little mad after hearing about Shiki.
"Well, why didn't you ask her to join our team?!" he growled at her.
"I-I don't think she would've joined us even if...I'm sorry" she answered sadly. He sighed, running his fingers through his hair.
"'Night then" he grumbled and walked away with his hands in his pockets. Kaida looked after him, a little angry at Ryou for reacting how he did.

  11. Shiki sighed as she came to a park. "Too late," she thought, sitting down on a bench next to a tall tree. Closing her eyes for a moment, the loner took a small rest.

A few moments later, when Shiki opened her eyes, she saw a figure towering in front of her. She quickly narrowed her eyes and stood up. "Who are you?" Shiki demanded, observing the figure's long dark cape and the fact that he seemed to be a very dangerous person.....

  12. Kaida yawned, falling back onto her bed. Today was a long day....but nobody knows what tomorrow'll bring she thought to herself, closing her eyes.

  13. Shiki stood up, a few inches shorter than the strange person who had appeared. "Who are you?" she asked again, though her voice wavered slightly. The figure gave no reply, but turned to leave the park. Shiki grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back as much as she could. "Stop!" she demanded. "I asked you a question!" In a gruff voice, the man replied, "You don't need to know...."

  14. [Here's some male characters that I/you/we can both just play(they're about the age of the Mew Mews):

    Kaida's crush ~~~> Kazuhiko Takaichi (Takaichi-kun)
Mysterious guy in park ~~> Mamoru Hasegawa (???)

    Is that ok?]

  15. (Sure! D: Sadly, I need to leave tomorrow and won't have access to internet for a little over a month...TT.TT)

  16. [Aww! Shoot >.< I guess this blog I'll be on hold pretty much until you get back or someone else joins lol. Oh and with the names, Kazuhiko means "harmonious prince" and Mamoru means "protector"]

    ReplyDelete
  17. (Yup! :D I is back!! Might be a bit idle for the next week, though, since internet is being really slow...)

    ...

    [What should happen? XD]

    ReplyDelete
  18. Shiki can befriend Mamoru (learn his name and stuff, or they can just meet and you can make them friends over time) and the "next day" Kaida gets off work and sees Takaichi-kun. (there could be an alien attack if you want, but we could just make it a normal day) Plus, I'm thinking you should wrap up your meeting with Mamoru on that night and I can make Chapter 2 as the next day

  19. Sure! I'll end the thing real quick now :P

Shiki's stare remained hard as she stared at the taller figure. "Tell me who you are," she said, in a quiet yet firm voice. The man sighed. "I am Mamoru Hasegawa," he said. "And good bye." Mamoru disappeared, leaving a slightly baffled Shiki standing in the park...
